Stewardship

TimeTalentTreasure2012

Every follower of Jesus shares the responsibility of Christian stewardship. Essentially this means that we respond in love to God’s abundant outpouring of material blessings by giving what we’ve been given to help meet the needs of this world. We believe that everything that we own is actually on loan from God. The apostle Paul wrote, “We brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” (1 Timothy 6:7)

Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church (ECRC) holds an annual stewardship campaign to encourage the commitment of the time, talents and treasures God has entrusted to us. This year our campaign theme is derived from Matthew 6 and is entitled “Embracing God’s Investment Strategy”.

Embracing God’s Investment Strategy
November 6 - 20
time...talent...treasure
stewardship campaign 2012

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“ (Matthew 6:19-21)

The annual stewardship campaign is an opportunity for the followers of Jesus at ECRC to do two things: express our gratitude to God for the gifts He has invested in us, and recommit our gifts of time, talent and treasure to further His kingdom.

As we prepare for Commitment Sunday, we ask that you prayerfully consider where you can use your God-given gifts at ECRC and beyond. And so by November 20, we ask that you will be prepared to make a:

• commitment of time how will you commit your time to deepen your faith in Jesus and serve in ministry at ECRC
• commitment of talent – how will you invest your talents and gifts in the ministry of ECRC and beyond
commitment of treasure – what specific dollar amount can you commit to support the mission and ministry of ECRC
