What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. Everyone is welcome at the Alpha course and people attend for a wide variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church on and off all their lives but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.
People come from many different backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints - but all come with the same objective: to establish whether Jesus Christ has any real relevance for their lives.
When does Alpha meet?
Alpha meets every Tuesday evening at Elmhurst CRC (click here for map) over the course of ten weeks. The topic of each week's session builds upon the prior week, so regular participation in all ten weeks is encouraged.
Child care is available for each weekly session, but children of Alpha participants must be registered.
What are the Alpha sessions like?
An evening at Alpha begins with fellowship and a video or talk that addresses a key issue relating to the Christian faith. Dessert and a small group discussion time provides an opportunity to ask questions and express opinions.
What does Alpha cost?
There is no charge for the course.
