Community Life Coordinator


As the Community Life Coordinator, I:

  • Coordinate follow-up contacts with all guests who visit our church   
  • Coordinate the S.W.A.T. (Sunday WELCOME ALL) teams as we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere on Sunday mornings. This includes coordinating volunteers serving as ushers, greeters, Information Center hosts, coffee hosts, and team leaders
  • Assist with information displayed at the Information Center
  • Assist anyone wishing to learn more about the church or indicating a desire to get involved
  • Oversee the Community Life team in its efforts to build a sense of community among the members, guests and friends of Elmhurst Church
  • Create welcome packets for guests and keep information updated
  • Plan activities and events including an annual Harvest Party in the fall, swim party in the winter, and Bulls Game in the spring, as well as several summer opportunities
  • Coordinate opportunities for lunch together after Sunday services several times during the year
  • Coordinate the Supper Shuffle Groups 
  • Oversee and lead the Small Groups team in its effort to develop and equip Christ-centered communities for all members and friends of Elmhurst Church
  • Provide leadership and direction for the structure of the Small Groups system at Elmhurst Church
  • Oversee the team as it strives to strengthen and grow new leaders, provide ongoing encouragement to the groups and leaders, and act as a resource to them
  • Coordinate the “Sundae Sundays” Open House Events in September and January, affording new people the opportunity to find a group
  • Assist in leading and giving support to several ministries that have relationship building as their emphasis
